The aim of our Music Department is to educate artists who uphold the values of our national musical culture and are capable of carrying these values forward in a manner that meets the needs of contemporary life; who possess technical competence, creativity and originality; who are proficient in technology, have a well-developed aesthetic awareness, can engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, adhere to ethical values, have a strong sense of justice, respect society, embrace innovation and freedom, value polyphonic music, and adopt an inquisitive and research-oriented approach.
With our curriculum, which has been designed by achieving a balanced harmony between tradition and modernity in the art of music, and our accomplished academic staff who are also practising artists, our goal is to become a leading and exemplary department in music education and training—one that is recognised in the region and preferred internationaly.
Our primary objective in the Conservatory Music Department is to educate professional artists. We aim to develop aspiring artists into confident individuals who are recognised within national and international music circles, distinguish themselves through original work and are capable of leading society. Graduates educated with this understanding may pursue careers nationaly and internationaly in academia, public institutions related to the performing arts and independent musical production. They may work as academics at national and international universities; as artists in orchestras and ensembles affiliated with the Ministry of Culture; or as performers, music producers, directors, music consultants, music critics and other professionals in private or public radio and television organisations.
In the Conservatory Music Department, students study subjects designed to develop academic competence through national and international studies, research activities and interdisciplinary courses that support the programme content.
Studies in the performing arts are supported through individual and grp practice. Students develop stage skills and gain greater self-confidence by taking part in national and international concert events, thereby preparing for professional life.

Education in the Nişantaşı University Conservatory Music Department is delivered by an academic staff composed of experts in their fields who possess strong academic and technical backgrounds, have achieved recognition in national and international music circles, have attained a high level of virtuosity and are committed to educating artists through a student-centred approach.
Conservatory Special Talent Examination Guide:
During the Conservatory Special Talent Examination, the Commission Members assess the candidate’s professional knowledge and competence by listening to or viewing two musical works performed live or slcted from the candidate’s recent archive, or two performance pieces exceeding three minutes in the field of performing arts/acting. Candidates are expected to present examples of their previous professional performances—such as announcements, posters, programmes and newspaper or magazine clippings—to the Commission Members.
Music Department:
The Special Talent Examination consists of an Aural Skills Examination and a Performance Examination. The Aural Skills Examination includes the repetition of one note, two notes, three notes, melodies and rhythms. Candidates are expected to identify correctly the single-note, two-note and three-note exercises played on the piano, reproduce the melodies played on the piano with their voice, and repeat rhythms presented through hand claps. The candidate’s aural ability is evaluated.
In the Performance Examination, candidates perform two works they have prepared in advance. Candidates without instrumental training are required to sing two works slcted from the categories of lied, arie antiche, Turkish folk song or march. The examination jury evaluates the works in terms of technique and musicality. Following the performance stage, candidates may be asked oral questions related to their field during the interview and may be requested to submit their résumés.
